Koh Samet
Koh Samet – The Island of White Sandy Beaches
Conceived as one of Thailand’s most preferred holiday destination, Koh Samet is idyllically clustered off the coast of Rayong province and approximately 180 kilometers from Bangkok. It is naturally formed like a long boot, namely larger on the top and narrower at the bottom. Part of Koh Samet National Park, the island offers a wide selection of accomodation facilities from low-priced cozy bungalows to luxury resorts and hotels all built behind the tree line to uphold the beauty of the beaches that first magnetized backpckers in the 70’s. The east coast is most mesmerizing with several secluded parts that holiday makers really like to visit. A tropical heaven for total relaxation, Koh Samet is conductive for escaping from the daily stress of modern life. There are numbers of white sandy beaches on the island but most of the nicer ones are nestled on the east coast including Sai Kaew, Ao Wong Duan, Ao Phai, Ao Wai, Ao Kui Na Nai and Ao Kui Na Nok. On the west coast there is only one cove of note called Ao Prao.
